From June 13th to 14th, Professor Luisella Roberta Celi from the Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Sciences of the University of Turin in Italy, also as the project leader of the "International Cooperation Project on Agricultural Nutrition Management Based on Natural Solutions(ECONUTRI) " between the governments of China and Europe, was invited to visit the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment of HAAFS for academic exchange.

Professor Luisella gave a systematic introduction to soil bio-geochemistry and nutrient cycling in agriculture and natural ecosystems by presenting a report on "Nutrient Cycling in the Soil Plant Microbiome Rice Systems: Innovative Solutions for a Better Sustainability and Resilience". This report focused on carbon, phosphorus, and nitrogen processes, with a particular emphasis on improving nutrient bio-availability in environments with specific dynamic characteristics such as rice field. The report showed that starting from the mechanism of analyzing and controlling the stabilization and accumulation of soil organic matter, researchers are exploring the best management techniques that can increase soil organic matter and make it a carbon sink/source. Recently, the research on the interaction between organic matter and nutrients has been conducted from a more systematic perspective of soil ecology, while emphasizing the role of the interconnection between soil plant microbiome in enhancing plant nutrient acquisition capacity, crop yield and quality, and environmental sustainability.

Researchers from the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment respectively had exchanges with Professor Luisella on the research task and progress of the ECONUTRI project, focusing on the application prospects of facility organic substitution for soil carbon and nitrogen cycling in the field and hydrothermal carbonization treatment technology for aquaculture wastewater. In addition, Professor Luisella visited Dahe Experimental Station of HAAFS, by checking long-term positioning experiments of facility vegetables, she put forward constructive suggestions on soil carbon and nitrogen cycling and nitrogen and phosphorus reduction of facility vegetables, as well as providing important ideas and directions for the follow-up research of the ECONUTRI project.
