From February 27 to March 1, 2024, Professor Banno and Researcher LIU Jingyue from Shinshu University in Japan visited Institute of Changli Fruit Research for exchange and discussion on the progress of cooperation projects.

According to the schedule, Researcher ZHANG Chaohong, Researcher CHENG Hehe, and Associate Researcher XU Jintao respectively represented the team to report on the progress of the introduction, evaluation, and utilization of red flesh apples, the rapid propagation of dwarf rootstock pear tissue culture, the screening of related conditions, and the collection, preservation, and utilization of pear rootstock resources. After listening to the report, Professor Banno fully affirmed the team's annual work and suggested working hard to achieve more results. Meanwhile, he answered the relevant problems encountered in the work.

During the visit, the team conducted on-site inspections of the Henan Zhuang base, Xiqian Zhuang base, Kongzhuang base, and Shigezhuang base in Huangdian Zhuang Township, examining the construction status of each base, the growth and management of relevant plant materials, and providing guidance for subsequent research. The exchange is beneficial to further deepen the collaborative research between the innovation team and Japanese experts, and continuously improve the breeding level of the team.
