On April 23, 2023, Professor CHEN Guoxun from the University of Tennessee visited the Institute of Biotechnology and Food Science to carry out academic exchange. CHEN is a tenured professor in the Department of Nutrition of the University of Tennessee in the United States, and also the chairman of the Vitamins and Minerals Branch of the American Nutrition Society (former), chairman of the Nutrition Science and Metabolism Branch of the American diabetes Society (former), and permanent member of the Sino American Diabetes Association.

Professor CHEN gave an academic report entitled "The role of vitamin A in the regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism", focusing on his research on the relationship between vitamin A and glycolipid metabolism, obesity and diabetes, and clarifying its molecular mechanism. He also conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with the participants on academic frontiers and the team achievements and scientific research experience, and raised ardent hopes for young researchers. This academic exchange deepened the understanding of international cutting-edge research directions and innovation capabilities among researchers and graduate students, providing important guidance for future research work and laying a solid foundation for further in-depth cooperation.
