On March 20, 2023, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ni Yuefeng visited the Ningjin demonstration base for green and efficient production of grain crops (hereinafter referred to as the Ningjin base) to investigate the production situation of spring tillage.

Founded in 2009, Ningjin base is a green and efficient production demonstration base for grain crops in the piedmont plain jointly built by the Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences and the Ningjin County People's Government. In 2021, Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, as a technical support unit, jointly established a national leading county for agricultural science and technology modernization with Ningjin County, providing planning consultation, collaborative innovation, integrated demonstration, park construction, achievement transformation, subject cultivation, industrial development, talent cultivation, and other support. Ningjin Base is the core demonstration base for the grain industry sector. Researcher Jia Xiuling from the Institute of Cereal and Oil Crop led the crop cultivation team to carry out demonstration and promotion of green and efficient production technologies such as new wheat and corn varieties, water-saving irrigation, etc. in the base for a long time.

At the Ningjin base, Secretary Ni Yuefeng and Researcher Jia Xiuling had in-depth exchanges to understand the overview of the Ningjin base, the variety characteristics and promotion of new wheat varieties, water-saving irrigation technology, the progress in the construction of unmanned intelligent farms, and the effectiveness of the base in promoting the improvement of wheat yield in the entire county. Secretary Ni Yuefeng walked into the Jimai 765 demonstration field and carefully checked the current growth and development process of wheat, seedling growth, and moisture content of the wheat field. He inquired about the process of spring irrigation and topdressing of wheat and weed control in the county.

Secretary Ni Yuefeng emphasized that it is necessary to organize farmers to seize the agricultural season, do a good job in spring farming production, and promote agricultural science and technology teams and personnel to go deep into the field to carry out agricultural technology guidance, laying a solid foundation for a bumper grain harvest. It is necessary to vigorously develop water-saving agriculture, promote new varieties of water-saving and high-yield, improve supporting facilities such as sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation, and canal systems, and continuously deepen comprehensive treatment of groundwater overexploitation.
