Recently, vice president ZHANG Jianjun, as the apple innovation team chief expert of the provincial modern agricultural industry technology system, led a delegation of five people to Chengde City to guide apple production in autumn and winter in cold regions.

After on-site observation and full understanding of the inputs consumption, output and benefits in demonstration orchards, the expert group gave specific guidance for the work at this stage. Vice president ZHANG Jianjun offered the following guidance:
1.Apply base fertilizer in autumn as early as possible after harvest. Sufficient organic fertilizer is the guarantee for improving the quality of the orchard;
2.Prepare cold prevention measures for trees to overwinter, timely paint tree trunks white and irrigate the trees when water starts to frozen;
3.Pay attention to the prevention and control of pests and diseases in autumn and winter, and do the cleanup in time;
4.Shape and prune the trees in autumn and winter to extend the full fruiting period;
5.Strengthen the brand publicity to improve apple sales.
