Recently, the effect of the new technology implemented in the demonstration base of Chongli District, Zhangjiakou was tested in the field. This new technology is involved by the project “Integration and demonstration of water-saving and efficiency technologies for suburban protected vegetables”, which belongs to the key R&D plan of Hebei Province.

The base in Chongli District covers an area of 500 mu, demonstrating the integrated intelligent control technology of water and fertilizer of the facility color pepper, the technology of use coverage to reduce transpiration, control leakage and prevent insect, and the technology of simultaneous water and fertilizer saving of the facility color pepper. The expert group agreed that through the integrated application of water-saving and fertilizer saving intelligent management technology and measures in the demonstration area, the effect of water and fertilizer saving, disease reduction, quality improvement and efficiency increase are remarkable, and the demonstration effect is obvious.

Chongli’s color pepper is the certification trademark of Chongli geographical indication, forming a staggered cultivation mode with Shandong and other places. The products are sold to Shanghai, Guangdong, Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong and other places, and exported to Japan, South Korea, Russia, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions. The color pepper industry has become one of the leading industries that drive local farmers to increase their income. The demonstration and promotion of the project technology will effectively reduce the amount of water and fertilizer, as well as improve the quality of vegetables.
