Oriental fruit moth is a global fruit pests. Chemical control is the main method to control oriental fruit moth. However, due to its borering habit, the control effect is not good. Fruit farmers often increase the application amount and frequency in order to achieve the expected effect. As a result, the pesticide residues in fruits exceed the standard and the pesticides resistance of pests increases. The discovery of sex pheromones provides a new idea for the control of pests. At present, the sex pheromone commodity of oriental fruit moth has been fully mature, including sex attractants for monitoring, and mating disruption filaments for field control. In recent years, the application of mating disruption filaments of oriental fruit moth has been used extensively. It has been proved that it can effectively control the damage of oriental fruit moth. However, there is not much research on the interference mechanism and self adaptation mechanism of the chemical sensing system of the oriental fruit moth in the artificial mating disruption environment. The research on these will be of great significance for guiding field control.
The Plant Protection Institute of Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences has long been committed to the large-scale reproduction and field release of natural enemies, the monitoring and control of migratory pests armyworm, and the occurrence monitoring and comprehensive control technology of major fruit tree pests. The technical regulations for monitoring and early warning and environmental protection control of main borer in apple, pear, peach and jujube orchards have been established. It has obtained a number of scientific and technological achievements awards, including the second prize of technological invention by Hebei Province, the second prize by China Society of Plant Protection, the second prize of scientific and technological progress, national invention patent, etc.
We are willing to cooperate with oversea research institute and scientists. The purpose of this study is to research the interference of mating disruption environment on the olfactory function and mating disruption mechanism of oriental fruit moth, to research the functions of related genes of oriental fruit moth.
